Traveling Heart Carnival Wagon

Wow this week is going so well!!! We are getting things done ahead of time and that is such a great feeling.  Here is another thingie I finished early (hey even one day does count!!!)

Traveling Hearts front

This is for a project that Leighanna Light started called Traveling Heart.  I love the idea!  We each get a little tin heart to start with and then mail it around.

Traveling Hearts sideI tried to leave it quite plain which wasn’t easy!!! But I wanted to leave plenty of room for everyone to work on it. : )  The wagon wheels work so it truly is a traveling heart. As you may be able to tell I didn’t do anything at all to the heart itself except hang it inside.

The silk remnant from a thrift store shirt has been sewn to the roof and then burned mercilessly along the edges and on some other places. I didn’t think I had any pyro tendencies until today (I think I had a little too much fun with this part!!).
Traveling Hearts back
I made the platform/base from foam core and then shaped it by adding resin clay. Then it has some craft paper glued on and it’s just very simply painted with craft paint. Just in case anyone was curious about how I made it.

This is so cool and unique. There is an aged effect to it that makes it looks quite old! Great!
